On September 25, 2025, delegates from Shoolini University, India, visited the College of Life Sciences at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on academic and research exchange. The visit aimed to promote academic collaboration and research development between the two institutions in the field of life sciences, especially in chemistry, biotechnology, and biomedical fields.
The day featured a series of special lectures. Prof. Dr. Deepak Kumar from Shoolini University delivered a talk on the application of traditional medicine in new drug design and the synthesis of natural products. And the event was followed by insightful presentations from KMU’s faculty members—Prof. Wei-Yu Lin, Prof. Wei-Ting Liao, and Prof. Yin-Tse Huang—who shared their latest research innovations. The academic exchange enriched mutual understanding and laid the groundwork for further cooperation.
During the institutional exchange session, Prof. Dr. Gaurav Gupta presented an overview of Shoolini University’s development and international engagement strategies. Prof. Vinoth Kumar introduced the KMU’s College of Life Sciences’ academic strengths and research focus areas, followed by dynamic and constructive discussions on possible collaborations.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the visit, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation. The signing was officiated by Prof. Chai-Lin Kao, Vice President for Global Affairs, and Prof. Sodio Hsu, Dean of the College of Life Sciences, on behalf of KMU. The MoU symbolizes the formal initiation of future collaborative initiatives.
The visit concluded with a token exchange and group photo. Both institutions held preliminary discussions on potential areas of cooperation, including student exchange programs, faculty visits, and joint research projects. This meeting underscored KMU’s commitment to expanding its international academic network and marked an important step toward globalizing education and research excellence.
